The wedding that started it all…

The day we returned home from our wedding, right before we left for our honeymoon, I wrote down a complete account of the entire weekend. It was 14 pages. Included in the ramblings? A word of advice for those planning now. Six years later, I couldn’t agree more.

“I suppose here is one tip that if I could travel back in time and tell my earlier planning self whom I know this advice would have benefitted it would be, listen to your little gut, don’t settle, find exactly what you’re looking for because it’s out there and you’ll be so so incredibly happy that you did. I spent every one of those 365 days looking for very specific pieces; flatware, florals, garlands, runners etc and the entire time I asked myself if it was going to be worth it? Would people notice? Would I notice? For me the answer was yes. It was worth all that time because in the end I knew that the aesthetic of the wedding was important to me so the age old, ‘and you know on your wedding day you won’t even know it was there’ wasn’t true for me. I did! And it made sitting next to my husband, snuggling up and smiling at not only all of our friends and family but looking at the setting they were in that much greater! So maybe more universal, find out that thing that’s really really important to you and don’t give up on making it a reality. You and your crew got this.”
